The Sports Buffet is a podcast developed by Bob Alvis. Alvis, who has broadcasted high school sports for six years for WKDE Radio in Altavista, VA, developed the pod-cast to give internet listeners access to old games and segments of "Talking High School Sports", that Alvis broadcasted for three years. Brad Bradley, Head Coach of the William Campbell Generals, was looking to capture another Region B championship at Generals Stadium during the 2006 High School Football season. Riverheads had other ideas. After a late Riverheads rally, the Gladiators were moving onto the state semifinal. After the game was over, Coach Bradley joined myself and Dave Hoehne on the post game show of the game after the game broadcast on WKDE. This interview is now part of the 2006-2007 High School Sports Year in Review on "The Sports Buffet"

Angelo Albanese, former professional soccer player for the Pittsburgh Spirit of the Major Indoor Soccer League, joined me on "The Sports Buffet" to talk the game of soccer. How can it get more popular in America. Angelo, originally from Italy, has been in the United States for 30 years and was a former All American at Slipper Rock University. Last week, he was in Virginia as a coach at the Blue Ridge Soccer Academy. Dennis Carter, Sports Director at ABC-13 in Lynchburg and host of "Football Friday" during the High School football season, joined me the week before the State Title game that would feature Amherst County and Louisa County to look ahead to that game as well as other high school football issues including three coaches leaving their respective schools in Ed Landis (E.C. Glass), Mike Scharnus (Rustburg) and Sonny Merchant (Altavista). Dennis Carter's appearence on "Talking High School Sports" the week of the VHSL State Championship game makes the cut on the 2006-2007 "The Sports Buffet's" Year in Review.

Warner Dyke and the Brookville Bees had a very good 2006-2007 season. It was evident to a lot of spectators on December 1st at Brookville High School that the Lady Bees were going to be very good as well. Mark Smith, Head Coach of the E.C. Glass Lady Hilltoppers basketball team was one of the first people that got to see up close how good the Brookville Bees team would be. It was an early December game at the Hive and the Hilltoppers couldnt swat the Bees. After the game, Coach Smith was generous enough to give Nick Pierce some time for "Talking High School Sports" and now you are hearing it on the 2006-2007 Year in Review on "The Sports Buffet"

Chris Young, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Brookville High School, was a witness to an exciting night at Brookville High School in early December. It was the night Brandon Inge was having his Brookville baseball jersey retired and the Bees and the E.C. Glass Hilltoppers played a thriller in the nightcap of a girls-boys doubleheader. After the game, Nick Pierce who was reporting for "Talking High School Sports" caught up with Chris Young to get his thoughts on the game. It is now part of the 2006-2007 Year in Review on "The Sports Buffet".
